Hey Sarah!

Sorry that I have not gotten around to checking your blog like I had hoped! Regardless, I totally understand your feelings about not associating food with happiness (it can be dangerous)...We do need to master our over-eating and diving into loving foods that kill us over time. I feel so much better when I eat healthier and I can feel a difference, too.

Funny about your last bit regarding living in the moment. I feel as though I have really started embracing this truth recently. What a great feeling it is!

I signed up at work for a course called Taking Care of Yourself. Yesterday afternoon I sat through a two hour seminar for the hosptial's management team about taking care of your body. I felt as though I was in a positive motivational seminar. I think that you hit the nail on the head. When we deprive ourself, we self-destruct, because we drive ourselves mad in a way. We have to give in from time to time (like having a thin mint girlscout cookie once in awhile). Things like that aren't bad in moderation, but everyday, or the whole box at a time...problems. I think that is where most people get crazy...they overdo it. And I have been guilty with that. Instead of deeling with depression by exercising or talking about things, I had overeating and stopped physical exercise. A few years ago, I felt so defeated and now I have have had to pay the price.

I think that everyone needs a reminder to live in the moment (but not foolishly).

God Bless...Hope all is well!
